Technology Center of DuPage Participation Fees
As a student at Technology Center of DuPage, you will be assessed a $100 TCD participation fee. Please note that this fee is in addition to any fees the home school may charge. TCD’s participation fee pays for the following:
- 1 set of navy blue scrubs for the clinical uniform
- Clinical supply bag including:
- Stethoscope
- Gait Belt
- Memo notebook and pen
- NATP Textbook
- NATP Workbook and Clinical Skills online application program
- Isolation Gown, Mask and Gloves
- Combination Lock for TCD Locker
- Sterile Processing Book
- Sterile Processing Tech PPE
Urine Drug Screen Test Fee:
Each NATP student is required to have a urine drug screen completed. The directions to obtain a urine drug screen can be found on the TCD website under the program tab, then under the NATP tab, under Forms.

There is a fee for the drug test that students will need to pay. That fee will be disclosed once the student follows the directions to register for the drug screen.
If your physician will perform a urine drug screen, those results will be accepted. The test needs to be a 7 or more panel urine drug screen test. Your health insurance may cover the cost if the test is ordered by your MD.
Drug screen test results are due by Wednesday 9/4/24
If a student does not submit their drug screen results by this date, the student will not be allowed to attend clinical and will not be allowed to take the state certification exam.
Exam Registration Fees for CNA and CSPDT
Upon successful completion of the theory, lab and clinical portions of the program a student will be able to register to take the state certification exam for CNA. They will also be eligible to take the CBSPD CSPD Technician certification exam. The student will be required to pay a registration fee to the state of Illinois and CBSPD.
The fee for CNA will not be due until February 2025
The fee for CSPDT will not be due until April 2025
The students will need to have the amount of the fees on an available debit or credit card in order to register for these certification exams.
Medical Physical and TB Testing: The cost for the required physical exam and TB testing is dependent on the student. Medical Insurance may cover the costs; it is best to check with your insurance company or medical provider. The DuPage County Health Department will administer TB testing as well with a minimal fee required.
SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST for NATP - Updated 07/08/24
Please bring supplies with you to class on first day.
The following supplies will be collected and used as classroom stock:
- 2 packs of 12 Black pens---NO BLUE INK/NO Colored Ink for assignments
- 6 Red pens
- 2 pack of 12 count #2 pencils NOT mechanical
- 1 pack of 6 highlighters
- 1 pack of colored pencils (16 count)
- 4 glue sticks
The following supplies are to be kept by the student (lockers are provided to store these items at TCD:
- 6 packages of 100 count 3x5 white index cards (ruled)-500 total
- 1 (1 inch) 3 ring binder with 2 pockets
- 4(1 subject) notebooks— (100 pages each). One notebook for each quarter/module.
- 1 packages of notebook paper (100 sheets each)
Preferred writing utensils (pen, flair pens, mechanical pencil, colored/gel pens) for note taking.
DAILY EXPECTATIONS/SUPPLIES TO BRING:
- Arrive on time and prep for the day. Book out, note taking materials ready to go.
- Bring your IPAD/laptop devices and chargers everyday.
- Cell phones away and out of sight on arrival and all of class.
- Bring your own water bottles, small snacks are allowed. No meals please.
DRESS FOR THE LAB EVERY DAY:
- No sandals or open toe shoes while in the lab.
- Wear clothing that fits appropriately----there will be bending and moving every day in the lab.
- No low cut tops or low riding pants. No half shirts or cropped tops. Shorts and Skirts must be mid thigh or lower. Students who do not follow these dress codes will begiven scrubs to wear by an instructor.
- Long hair will need to be pulled back while in the lab.
- Fingernails must be at a manageable (less than ½ inch long from fingertip) length for the program. Students will be told to trim or remove nails if length is too long or a safety hazard to residents.
- Wear a tank top, cami, dry fit or undershirt under hoodies or sweatshirts so you can easily try on a uniform for sizing and perform blood pressure practicing.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR CLINICALS
- Closed toe and Closed Heel White leather supportive shoes.
- Shoes must be able to rinse or be wiped off.
- No canvas, net or cloth shoes allowed.
- No vented toe or open back CROCs or mules.
- A clock face wrist watch with a second hand.
- NO digital watches, cell phone clock settings or Apple Watch allowed.
