Medical Assisting - for Seniors Only
Medical Assistants will be trained to work in ambulatory settings such as physicians’ offices. They perform administrative and clinical procedures such as billing and coding, maintaining medical records, completing basic clinical assessments, recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination, collecting blood specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, EKG’s, preparing and administering medications, and assisting physicians with treatment and/or minor procedures.
Medical Assisting is a certified program where students will learn the skills necessary to sit for their state licensing exam. Students will have the opportunity to participate in clinicals and earn up to 160 hours of practical experience. *Students must be in their senior year to participate.
