Every student will have at least two work-based learning experiences prior to graduating from Technology Center of DuPage. Work-based learning can include but is not limited to: job site visits, job shadowing, internships.
Every student will earn industry credentials, certifications, and/or college credit. Pathways to credentials, certifications, and/or college credit will be clear and easily accessible.
Every student will be provided the academic, technical, and behavioral support required to respond to their specific needs in order to learn at the highest levels possible consistent with the Portrait of a Graduate.
Every student from the DAOES community will have the ability to pursue a pathway at Technology Center of DuPage that prepares them for entry into a high demand, high skill, high wage field in the region.
Every instructional staff member will receive ongoing technical and professional training that will enable them to continue to be expert instructors in their field.
Every instructional staff member will receive the professional development necessary to implement practices that support equitable student academic and career success.
Every staff member will be provided experiences and support that promote their inclusion, participation, and development as a member of the DAOES and TCD community.
DAOES and TCD will partner with The College of DuPage and other regional institutions to establish streamlined, cohesive, and coordinated Regional Professional Advisory Councils with relevant industry experts in order to develop a unified approach to credentials, certifications, pathways, and work-based learning opportunities for students ages 14 -22.
DAOES will partner with elementary school districts and their communities to establish the pathways and resources necessary for schools to exceed the requirements of the PACE framework and for families to be well informed about opportunities at TCD prior to students entering high school.
DAOES and TCD will partner with high schools across DuPage to develop a shared approach to identifying, admitting, and supporting students at Technology Center of DuPage, consistent with the DAOES Vision, Mission, and Portrait.
DAOES and TCD will partner with large and small businesses across the region to develop work-based learning opportunities for students, professional learning opportunities for staff, and opportunities for businesses to recruit TCD students directly into their respective workplaces.
DAOES Administration will develop a process forsystematically updating infrastructure and facilities to effectively utilize large spaces and align with current industry standards, ensuring the acquisition of cutting-edge, industry-approved equipment that is reviewed and replaced every few years.
DAOES and TCD leadership will develop and execute separate, targeted marketing plans for key stakeholders (students, parents, counselors, and employers) to promote TCD’s unique identity, while also exploring a name change that better reflects all program offerings.
DAOES leadership will maximize how grants, partnerships, and facilities usage can be leveraged to maximize support for successful programming and financial health.
A documented and regular process will be established to evaluate specific course programming and curriculum, in order to ensure that courses and curriculum are aligned with Objective ID, above.
