January 2024 Students of the Month

Congratulations to Roy Zuniga for being named one of DAOES's Students of the Month for January.  Roy is a senior at Elmwood Park High School and a student in our Emergency Medical Technician program.

In his nomination, Lieutenant Bayne, one of Roy’s instructors, wrote:

“Roy was originally wanting to take manufacturing here at TCD, but then was switched to construction.  After completing the OSHA 10, he decided that it wasn’t for him.  He came to EMT has done amazing work.  Roy wants to go to school for engineering and will use his EMT knowledge and skills for personal use.”

Roy has been an exceptional student all year and strives to be successful every day.

Congratulations to Ian Cortes for being named one of DAOES's Students of the Month for January.  Ian is a senior at Glenbard West High School, a student in Glenbard’s Directions program, and a student in our Professional Cooking, Baking, and Service program.

In his nomination, Chef Barker, Ian’s instructor, wrote:

“Ian comes from Glenbard’s Directions Program and is doing great/fully taking advantage of his TCD opportunity! He is also on our ProStart team. He comes in early to help with parties like the breakfast for the principals. He stays late for practice and open houses.”

Ian has been an exceptional student all year and strives to be successful every day.
