College Credit
Multimedia - Dual Credit Possibilities with the College of DuPage
The Multimedia Program courses at the Technology Center of DuPage (TCD) are aligned with the College of DuPage’s MPTV 1011, 1020, 1220, and 2223 courses. Successful completion of these courses allows students to receive both high school credit and up to 12.0 college credits in the MPTV Program. Upon completion, an official transcript from the College of DuPage will be issued for each student.
Students may enroll in dual credit for their program areas by submitting an online form during the initial weeks of class. This form is an approved document by the College of DuPage and does not necessitate a parent signature. The Technology Center of DuPage is responsible for collecting these forms and submitting them to the College of DuPage for processing.
When a student's performance falls below a grade of ‘C,’ the TCD instructor may recommend that the student withdraw from the College of DuPage course. Should this situation arise, the instructor will communicate the recommendation to the student, and a letter will be sent to the student’s home to inform the parent(s) or guardian(s). This procedure is intended to protect students from commencing their college experience on academic probation.
It is important to note that if a student is withdrawn from the dual credit component of the course, this action does not imply that the student will be removed from the TCD program. In such instances, students will still have the opportunity to complete the TCD program for high school credit.
